“DJ Skrill Meadow was the “talk of the town” at our 30th anniversary event. He put a lot of work into following our prompt of playing music from every year starting with 1984 to present – the fact that he was able to do it, and keep us dancing and happy, was quite the feat! His music selection is unique and fun – none of that boring and typical DJ ‘We are Family’ stuff. He was very response, easy to work with, and affordable. The sound was excellent, and he even had the ability to use a mic through his system which was a lifesaver because the mic/speaker system in the room we were using wasn’t loud enough!”
-Gail Wootan, Assistant Director, Graduate Program in the Environment, The Evergreen State College Skrill Meadow was amazing! He worked with us before our wedding to tailor the set, showed up with his turntables and just killed it. Everyone was dancing all night and people still tell me years later how great the dj was at our wedding. Highly recommend. -Colin Trujillo, groom "I am an avid collector of great vinyl records and when my better half, Pete, started building a great analog hi-fi stereo system we threw our first Holiday Hot Vinyl party. It was a huge hit... except we were too busy to keep track of who was playing what and if records were finding their way back in their sleeves. After I heard "Middle of the Road" for the third time and saw the growing stack abandoned of vinyl on the cabinet I realized we would need help the next year. I met Mark at his work where he always appeared with his portable vinyl library. Great music always leads to great conversation. When December was rolling around he was an obvious choice for a deejay. When I told Pete I found someone to spin vinyl at our party he wasn't convinced. Then I told him the qualities that I saw in Mark: firstly, he is totally chill. People are emotional about music, that's the great thing but also the dangerous thing for a deejay, song choices can be personal. Mark has a cool head, is easy to talk to, and is a super nice guy - you couldn't ask for more. I don't mean to put all the emphasis on his personality because if it wasn't for his great taste in music, none of that would matter and he has a great depth of musical knowledge. What he doesn't know he'll learn. Our party focuses on classic old school mature vocals: Frank Sinatra; Ella Fitzgerald; Duke Ellington, et al. These are mixed with requests that range from 80s punk to Blues. Mark is thoughtful at balancing what a single person wants to hear with what playing right then and what is going to keep people on the dance floor. All of that is a tough challenge but he does it so well it seems effortless.Mark loves music and that comes through - everyone has a good time when he's spinning." -Meagan Ross |
